This is the sixteenth instalment of the ‘DAGENHAM AND ME’ series in which we explore fans’ and former players’ relationship with the club. This will be done over the Christmas period with interesting stories being told daily! Behind door number 16 is supporter, STEVE, enjoy :)

FULL NAME: Steve Agin

My favourite player currently is Chike Kandi - the attacker possesses fantastic pace and worries opposition defences. I am a season ticket holder in the Carling Stand around the dugout.

I have been supporting the Daggers since the late 70s/ early 80s; so around 12 years prior to the merger I began attending Victoria Road. I can remember standing on the grass bank at the Pondfield Road End which is now the West Stand - my first game escapes me.

One relation to the club that others may not have is that my cousin played for Dagenham - though just the once. He played away at Halifax and has won more FA Trophy winners medals than Dagenham - 2-1!

My favourite game, well I couldn’t choose just one, so I went for three, with the first being home to Exeter in the FA Cup. We beat them 3-0 in a replay after a 0-0 draw at their place; to progress to Round 3 was great. However, in the 3rd Round Dagenham were defeated by Ipswich at Victoria Road in front of a record Daggers crowd.

The second is from the conference winning campaign, it is the 2-1 victory over Aldershot in that fantastic year for the club that sealed the title and a place for Dagenham in League Two. THAT victory over the Shots was a historic day for the club.

Thirdly, my best away day is also one of my favourite games, Oxford, as it was live on the telly - we took seven coaches! The game ended all square with four goals scored in total and it was again a great day out.

My favourite Christmas game is away to Accrington Stanley as it was a great day out and the result matched that.

From when I first started, what has changed is that my son now comes with me - he enjoys it just as much as I. We are both season ticket holders in the Carling Stand near the dugout.

My favourite Daggers manager who has took charge in that dugout I feel is Garry Hill - he was a great motivator. From favourite manager to player and it has gone from player to player(s) with the likes of Mark Janney, Danny Shipp, Chris Moore and Tim Cole.
