After a disappointing start to the campaign that showed glimpses of quality but awful defending from set pieces and minimal attacking threat - its time to bounce back! This evening The Daggers travel to Dover in search of three points to get their season back on track as the club’s ambition is still reaching the play offs. The opposition may field a couple of familiar faces including Jack Munns and defender Kevin Lokko who currently play at The Crabble ; the latter scored twice in 25 appearances for Dagenham in the 2017-18 campaign.

In terms of our line up, I am hoping for a reshuffle in attack also with one replacement at the back.

Saturday’s XI

Last Saturday, as previously mentioned, there was hardly any attacking threat with Quigley ineffective up front : he also gained little support from the wingers - McQueen and Bagasan Graham. Therefore I would drop those three for tonight’s match as well as Luke Croll who didn’t seem to be attacking enough for a full back, Eleftheriou on the other hand started attacks. For this reason I believe to balance the team I would introduce Liam Gordon - who didn’t make the squad last time out - as he is a positive footballer  and a proper full back (not a centre back like Croll)

My XI V Dover

For those reasons (above)I believe in order to balance the team I would introduce Liam Gordon - who didn’t make the squad last time out - as he is a positive footballer  and a proper full back ( not a centre back like Croll). For the final changes in personnel up top I would have Grant as the striker with Luque and Dobson on the wing as these three provided creativity when they were introduced late on in Saturday’s defeat. Otherwise I feel the midfield battles well and the centre back partnership should be continued so I would leave them unchanged.

The opposition

Last time out The Whites recorded a 2-1 victory on the road at Chesterfield leaving them in 4th going into tonight but with one game on the table means very little ( I’m not just saying that because we’re 23rd). Alfie Pavey picker up from where he left off last season - scoring goals - as he netted twice in eight minutes late on to complete a successful comeback. Former Dagger Jack Munns made his debut at the weekend so there is a good chance he plays his first competitive home game tonight under the lights.

Score Prediction

In terms of score predictions I feel the result is dependent very much on how Taylor approaches this game. However, I am an optimistic person so I am going to go 1-2 hoping he approaches the game with an attacking mindset therefore opting for an XI similar to mine.
