My first XI: A couple are interchangeable as will be discussed below
I have opted for a 4-2-1-3 formation as I feel it strike a good balance between attack and defence. With Odametey being used as a box to box midfielder with his levels of energy and determination.

My attack consists of a front three of Luque, Quigley and McQueen in the ‘First XI’ however I feel this is interchangeable, Quigley and Grant should be interchanged based on form; likewise for McQueen and Kandi, who misses out. An anomalyhowever is Joan Luque whose form in pre season and record last season speaks volumes of his talent, therefore I feel if Dobson wants to break into the first team he may have to look at other positions - being versatile as he is.

I have gone for a midfield three that includes a defensive midfielder (Brundle), box to box midfielder (Odametey) and an attacking midfielder (Balanta). I have put Brundle into my ‘First XI’ as a defensive midfielder because his passing capabilities and strength make him a perfect fit for this position linking defence to attack with his long range passing accuracy. In addition, Harold Odametey will be my box to box midfielder because, as previously stated, he brings great energy and determination stopping at nothing to retrieve the ball and the joy of his game is its simplicity - he was one of the first names on my team sheet. To wrap up my midfield three I picked Angelo Balanta in the advanced midfield role as again he had to be included due to his natural talent and quality attributes. These attributes include clever short passing - providing assists; cutting inside and shooting - providing goals and similar to the former his link up play, picking the right pass at theright time.
The back four (five including Justham) I feel is the key to success this season as we build and play out from the back. My back four consists of former Hornet Eleftheriou on the right; returning rock at the back Onariase; Luke Croll a man with valuable league experience and academy graduate Gordon on the left. Starting on the right with Andrew Eleftheriou, who played against the champions of England on his premier league debut albeit in a 5-0 defeat. He is a player yet to prove himself really in first team football, yet his fitness and athleticism is not to be second guessed being around a premier league first team set up, therefore I feel he is able to get up and down the wing.  On the other side of the back four I have chosen Gordon, one of our own, again a young and athletic full back who is capable of getting up and down. As well as his athleticism, last season’s form gaining him a top three place in the POTY vote is more evidence that he is an indispensable member of this Daggers side.
My centre half pairing is Onariase and Croll however Kenny Clark is still not out of the frame in my opinion yet the former Fleet man is not in the athletic bracket. For me Onariase is a must in thisstarting XI as he was Dagenham’s rock at the back last campaign making him a fans’ favourite - an all out defender is Manny who will be key to this title charge. In partnership with him I would choose Luke Croll who is a solid defender who is good in the air much like his defensive counterparts therefore I feel he will be good in partnership with Manny with them being like - minded. Back onto the case of Kenny Clark I feel he could be key coming on off the bench, for example if the side needs calming down or we are looking to hold onto a slender lead he possesses great experience- a calming influence.

Of course, it is a no brainer who will start between the sticks this season, our POTY Elliot Justham, the man who won us countless points last campaign with his heroics. However, our new signing Strizovic is someone I am interested to see progress and get a chance in the side as he a is said to have great potential, therefore I would love to see him in the side for the FA Trophy and maybe a couple of league games.

Will Wood, Bagasan Graham, Harry Phipps and Matt Robinson are among those to get little if any mention however I feel that if called upon they are capable of doing a great job. These players missing out just shows the srength, depth and quality of this squad which I am confident are able to challenge for the title. Graham, Phipps and Wood are capable of breaking into this XI but it is a tough ask. I look forward to a great season ahead with this XI and the rest of this fantastic squad.
