Match Preview - Maidstone United

Dagenham V Maidstone - Match Preview

Hopefully the infamous Victoria Road scoreboard has been sorted out ahead of the first Vanarama National League fixture of the season at the home of the mighty Daggers. We don't want jeering chants from the Stones fans of ' Scoreboard, what is the score?'

Here are the two sides' predicted XIs:

Dagenham & Redbridge  (4-3-3)

1 Elliot Justham
3 Liam Gordon
20 Will 'Wrighty' Wright
6 Luke Pennell
25 Gavin Hoyte
4 Matt Robinson
16 Harry Phipps
26 James Blanchfield
10 Elliot Romain (out wide, please!)
9 Chike Kandi
11 Lamar Reynolds ( The One)

Maidstone  ( Line up V Hartlepool)

1 Worgan
16 Twumasi
5 De Havilland
6 Finney
3 Mclennan
21 Muldoon
8 Lewis
22 Phillips
11 Turgott
14 Loza
9 Quigley

Both sides are looking to get their first three points on the board as Maidstone drew 1-1 at home to Hartlepool and the Daggers lost 1-0 at Meadow Park. There is extra insentive for the young Dagenham side as they look to put their first points on the board, in their first home game of the season. The Stones' attacking threats include winger Blair Turgott,  who will be looking to make it two in two after he was the only one to net for Maidstone last time out. As well as former Cherry Joe Quigley who is looking to get off the mark in terms of goal scoring this season; Joe is looking to break his goal drought after scoring just once last season. Hopefully his goals don't come all at once tomorrow night against Dagenham!

I hope Peter Taylor plays a more offensive style from the off at home and really goes for the three points. Also, I believe with Kandi playing down the middle he could hold off players and hold up the ball to offload to Romain and Reynolds. That I think would work better than playing a weaker Romain up top. If Phipps starts against his former club and shows strength in Midfield again it could turn into a positive result for Dagenham.

The Daggers players along with the fans are up for the game as they are desparate to get points on the board. This was expressed through social media by players after Saturday's defeat:

Here are some highlights from the last meeting between the two sides:

I predict a 2-1 Daggers win! #COYD
