𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: The Results

Dagenham’s play-off hopes were extinguished for another year at Victoria Road, as a lacklustre display saw Daryl McMahon’s side condemned to a 2-0 defeat. It was not as if Aldershot played out of their skin; it was just despondent from the Daggers with a severe lack of urgency, belief and intent - to be of grave concern.

A Jon Nouble goal fifteen seconds into the second half was enough to seal the deal for Danny Searle’s Aldershot. Yes, the timings of the goals were less than ideal, but that's not to excuse a performance which was poor from start to finish - simply not good enough.

The Daggers will need to pick themselves up sharpish going into a clash with Woodman's Bromley on Saturday - a tough(er) test.

But, for now, let's see what YOU the supporters had to say on this display with your player ratings:

The fans' player ratings after the Easter Monday defeat

Grim reading. Yet representative of the frustration felt by all at a poor performance - result aside - a poor performance that revealed the frailties within the squad.

You could say harsh on some, but I think these are reasonably accurate reflections of just how dire it was today - a painful watch. That's not something you want to be saying after you watch your team play: where you hope to be entertained.

I mention the frailties in the side, today revealed the underlying issue which rears its head every now and then - ruthlessness in both boxes. Yes, we've had a few more wins than usual of late, but of the games we haven't won - this has been a key issue.

The inability to command your box when defending and then, too, in front of goal the lack of clinical finishing on show - these are issues that need to be addressed.

The supporters' MOTM saw this man take the title for a second game in a row:

It was difficult to pick a Man Of The Match, I'd go as far to say that there wasn't one today - in terms of players in a Dagenham & Redbridge shirt. Is there really a Man of The Match when you're left to pick 'the best of a bad bunch'.

There was a real lack of quality on show, so I think fans went on the work ethic, and Matt Robinson again gave 110% - all the players tried, I'll give them that - but if you talk about going the extra mile through real determination... Robinson was one of few that gave us that today.

So, a Man Of The Match for Robinson with 35% of the vote this time, but I'm sure he'd admit he made a lot of mistakes today - but he was voted as the best out there in a Daggers shirt.

So, we move to Saturday where the players will look to restore some pride with victory over the Ravens.

Thanks for reading and getting involved with the votes,

Keane
